Bally Plug Bumper
« on: May 31, 2014, 03:29:03 PM »
I'm looking for the little rubber stops which the plungers on this inline drop target assembly rest on. The part number is R-231-14 does anyone know if these are available or if there is a good alternative? This particular one is from a Fathom but they were used on other games as well. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

You could probably use rubber grommets available from any auto parts store.

Thanks, I'll give that a go if I can't track them down anywhere.

I have not found these for years.

I use Beer Seal - but be careful with "in line" targets such as Fathom etc - sometimes the Beer Seal leaves the plunger too high. Start with the PBR harder GTB type and if that is not good, use the WPC thinner type. Sometimes you have to tweak it a little - especially with the DT assemblies you need it for.

Thanks Nino, I have both kinds of Beer Seal so I'll give it a go.

No idea what these plugs look like or size wise, but would those little plastic/rubber feet things you stick under electronic stuff like modems etc do. They might do and perform better than foam rubber???? Just a thought.

Maybe, I'm not sure that those rubbers would have as much give in them as the original rubber but perhaps that wouldn't matter anyway. I pulled one of the assembly's apart last night and managed to polish the plate with the rubbers up without damaging the them. Just gave them a hit with mill wax and they come up pretty good. I was worried they'd be close to perishing but they there still in good shape. Hopefully the other bank of targets comes up ok to. The rest of the metal parts will go of to the electroplaters for re-zincing.
