embryon flipper issue
« on: October 11, 2014, 08:00:40 PM »
Have to admit that this may have been happening for awhile but think more recent since installing new bats. I have noticed the bottom left flipper is not moving the full upward stroke as the right one. Its about 5-10 degree so its a fair amount. While holding the flipper in the up position electrically, I can by hand move it further while feeling a little rough, bouncey resistance, if that makes sense.

If I manually move the bat there does not seem to be any resistance. It feels free as. I haven't investigated in a big way but think this could have me scratching my head.

Anyone encountered similar or have ideas I can investigate? Thanks

Eos switch opening too early or not set correctly.
Just a guess !@#

Both the above will most likely be the culprit !

was thinking this so good there is a bit of a consensus. I had a quick look before posting and couldn't visually see a difference but was too stuffed from work. So will have a better look tomorrow. Thanks guys and will report back.

The EOS would have to open REALLY early to cause this sort of issue, and should be obvious.  I think Embryon would have linear flipper mechs??  If so check for severe wear on the nylon pivot arm that can catch on the slot in the plunger.  Otherwise it is a bit of a strange one !@#

Happy to report problem solved. Not an EOS problem but the actuator for the EOS. When looking at it from underneath the pf it looked ok. I noticed though there was a lot more play between the round nylon on the actuator and the plunger rod compared to the right flipper. I took it off and found the other side of the nylon is very worn, see photos. Lucky I had one spare left.

thanks for the ideas though
