Update to this.

Turned out to be a huge waste of effort, time, money not to mention frustration for these guys. Council forced them to jump through hoops and they have now pulled the pin on the venture. Selling all their built up inventory and purpose built equipment. Sad stuff - feel for these guys. But I always thought it was a strange area for this type of business. Anybody familiar with the area knows it is 99% industrial. Council probably back flipped when they looked at the variables such as liquor licence, operating after hours in a deserted area away from thoroughfare traffic (and police). Didn't go through VCAT as apparently the rent was understandably costing them too much to wait until the August hearing. The place was all painted up and everything. Must have put many thousands into this already. Goes to show, wait for full approval documentation first if possible.

Yeah real shame I'm told the sticking point was parking! But agree strange place to have this place but gee I was hoping it would open.

That's what council can legally pursue but other factors surely had to be involved. Parking permission was given by neighbours and permission given back to use Tilt's parking during the day when they weren't open. Massive truck friendly roads and literally acres of parking when the place is deserted after 6pm! I had an issue with Brimbank Council myself in the past and they were fools to deal with.

There's a lot of work that needs to go into this type of venture. Sometimes you may miss some minor fine print and everything falls to pieces. They tried, and it is sad it didn't work out.

I'm not sure of any details, but with regard to parking, you can give verbal or written permission to use parking. I have 6 spaces allocated, but I've given written permission for two other business' to use my car parks as long as there are two free. Irrespective of what the council thinks. I agree, they are impossible to deal with.

Parking was the straw. Council renegged on a ruling and mone ran out. Was told this by a partner. Could not keep paying rent etc and wait for vcat. As you know, vcat ruling isn't a given for these guys either. Saw them sell a scared stiff and iron man sell for $5K each which I'm told is good buying???
Still loving my Metallica Premium
