Hi all,
here's my current work in progress. I dub thee AC/DC Pro "Iron Man Edition".
This also includes my ongoing "Pinvid" project. Ever since owning my AC/DC Pro, I had envisaged a screen playing AC/DC clips in the righthand corner. I set to work and created a custom marquee with LCD screen and had a a Raspberry Pi playing video on loop. My project stalled when a guy in the U.S presented his which was pretty much the same idea as mine, but interacts with the machine. I lost interest in the project when somebody else had beat me to the punch.
About a month ago, I decided I should dust off my own project and finish what I started. I thought it still had merit and adds some excitement to the playfield. I wired my Pinvid setup so that it starts up when I turn the pinball machine on. It plays a video clip on loop until machine is turned off.
Once Pinvid was complete, I decided to finish my next idea: AC/DC Pro "Iron Man Edition". I bought an Iron Man helmet at the end of 2012 and had it sitting on top of the pinball ever since. Peoplew ould look at it with a puzzled expression. I'd always say that AC/DC were featured completely in the Iron Man 2 soundtrack. I got a custom translite printed off, put the Shoot to Thrill video clip from Iron Man 2 on my Pinvid screen, added an Iron Man figurine to the playfield and also added a few new tracks. Iron Man by Black Sabbath and Shoot to Thrill by AC/DC.
The new translite and added music make it feel like a new game. Have added some photos.
Next job for this machine is adding LEDs and a swinging bell mod.
Cheers!
Adam.
