What about this idea - interchangeable flipper bats
« on: April 01, 2015, 08:03:31 AM »
I have got an idea and curious what others think

- design and make a new concept flipper shaft that does not have a knurl on it but has a spade, triangle end or slot and then design the flipper bat with a rare earth magnet installed within the flipper bat so once the bat slides down the special shaft the magnet actracts to the top of the shaft stopping the bat from sliding up. The spade or triangle end of the shaft holds the bat firmly in place for swinging action.

- Then you could have one shaft on each side fastened into your game and then people could quickly swap out bats for comps, fun or challenges. So people could add a 2", 2 1/2", 3", 3" feature bat, or even banana bats and so on within a few seconds and totally change the game play for comps, get togethers, or just for your personal fun and interest.

interested in your thoughts

cool, I have an idea for the lighting of a flipper bat  #@#, have a little secret project in the mix which will lend itself to quite a few mods and other uses and could possibly work with a lit flipper.

I will nut out a design for interchangeable bats and get the ball rolling there and post back here to see what people think.

I would love to watch the profesional(lol) players contend with banana flippers swapped out at the last minute before a competition. :D

Banana flippers nearly stopped me from playing pinball. Gave me the shits and took the fun out of pinball. Made pinball a game of luck again.
Still loving my Metallica Premium
