Lethal Weapon 3 issue
« on: January 21, 2016, 05:14:02 PM »
Hey all,

My LW3 has decided to loose its memory over night, ( Like Its owner). I installed a remote Battery holder as the original looked a little bit suss. Turn the game off for 15 mins ...not a problem. Slow drain? There are a couple of Diodes ( D25 an D 23) which look like they are in the line of fire. Thinking i should change them over? I cant seem to find the value of these suckers on the Net. Any feedback greatly appreciated.

Don't know LW3 much but have you checked the diodes in circuit with DMM. With machine off, put DMM on diode setting, black lead of DMM on the banded lead of diode, red lead on non banded lead of diode. A reading of .4 and .6 volts should be seen. When changing batteries with machine off and then starting up everything goes back to factory settings. Since you've removed whole battery pack same deal. Also make sure batteries are installed correctly and are new. Seems simple but it happens. Hope this helps.  *%*

D25 is a 1N4148 (Jaycar have them so they are easy to get)
D23 is a 1N5817 Schottky rectifier diode, and the most likely culprit to cause your batteries to be drained quickly, as they would be trying to power everything on the +5 volt line.

Jaycar don't have the 1N5817 (not sure if they have an equivalent though)  !@# but RS components do;
