Howdy - Wanting my first Pinball
« on: January 26, 2016, 03:10:43 PM »
Hi All

Just wanted to say this is a great site.  I've finally decided to look at acquiring my first pinball (hopefully Avengers).  Any help, tips or expected costs would be great.

G'day and welcome
you may want to post your location, getting to know your fellow pinfans is helpful

Have you played Avengers?
I'd guess the price on that game is about $6000, (but I am probably wrong)

Extra costs would be consumables like globes and rubbers etc and repair costs which could include labour if you're not willing to have a go yourself
Still loving my Metallica Premium

Hi Macca.  You're at the right place mate. I've only been on here a week or so and found everyone so willing to help with advice. Good luck with your first pin. Be careful they multiply quickly.

Thanks for all your advice guys, fingers crossed an Avengers pops up at some stage in the future.  I've played it a bit and really enjoy it.  I'm also a big Avengers fan (especially Captain America) so that's another reason I'm leaning towards it.

Nice choice of game Macca ,
Fun game . very hard to beat , really tight shots and the center ramp that almost makes it up , but dosent quite !!!
I think there is a mod for the shooter plastic lane parts btw , These were a bit crappy imo .
I think there is a steel mod to get rid plastics set up Stern/Designer used.
You must know about the LE Hulk and the Blue Avengers LE they made too. well worth looking out for .
Good luck with the search , ps dont ever leave 2 pinballs together in the same room overnight! They breed like rabbits ...

Hi Macca and welcome.
The Avengers is very addictive and challenging to play.
If you only play it a few times, you would walk away and say ho hum but once you overcome the challenging shots and difficulty factor, it is a whole new ball game.
I have Hulk LE. Good luck in your search as I don't think these sold well. The trick is to find one that has not been thrashed and ‘Hulk smashed’ as this title needs to be in 100% working order to trully appreciate.
If you don't remember the 70s then you were on drugs.
If you remember playing pinball in the 70s you were having a good time.
If you don't remember anything,  then read about it here,
