Attack from Mars Remake
« on: March 19, 2017, 11:33:44 AM »
Wonder what people think of the AFM remake?

Personally I am glad the remake is happening, same as I was for MM. The extra parts availability into the future appeals to me more than any possible price decrease with originals, and I am glad more collectors/hobbyists will get a chance to own these classics.

Not so sure about the wide-screen "DMD" layout and speakers?

I'm defiantly interested in this one but I wouldn't be inclined to rush out and buy one for a good 6 to 12 months. At least until hearing from others if there were any issues with the game.
Personally of the 3 models on offer I like the basic (sorry don't know what they're calling them) one the best. Wider DMD does nothing for me and I don't like the green. Love the game though and very happy they're being remade. I just hope the pricing isn't ridiculous.

3 tiers
Classic - like the original with Chrome trim, colour standard sized dmd
LE & Collectors - not sure which of the LE or Collectors has the topper and and lit up ufo's and trim, wider dmd's etc

Planetary Pinball are building these this time - not Stern and they are building the 500 LE's or Collectors ???? not sure which is which.

Not a fan of the different lcd dmd and light up speakers either - they should of done Kingpin..

Not sure PPS has rights to Kingpin, but agree it would have been what I would like.

pricing released at Texas Pinball Festival

Classic - $6499 USD
Special - $7299 USD
LE - $7999 USD (500 total)

Mr Pinball will be selling these but no pricing released yet but guessing
Classic - $9000
Special - $11250
LE - $12000

if you compare to a Stern Aerosmith in the USD
2017
January / 2017 / Aerosmith / Pro / $6199
January / 2017 / Aerosmith / Premium / $7899
January / 2017 / Aerosmith / LE (500) / $8999

and AMD's pricing of
Aerosmith / Pro / $8350
Aerosmith / Premium / $10650
Aerosmith / LE (500) / $12350

I'm in for a classic if the price is right, just waiting to see what Wayne will price them at.

sorry to say price isn't good = cash grab

doubt will sell many, hate to see the price of the collectors and LE's pricing released at Texas Pinball Festival
 Classic - $6499 USD
 Special - $7299 USD
 LE - $7999 USD (500 total)

and a comparison to a Stern Aerosmith in the USD
 MSRP prices
 January / 2017 / Aerosmith / Pro / $6199
 January / 2017 / Aerosmith / Premium / $7899
 January / 2017 / Aerosmith / LE (500) / $8999

and then (Aus Distributor) AMD's pricing (AUD) of
 Aerosmith / Pro / $8350
 Aerosmith / Premium / $10650
 Aerosmith / LE (500) / $12350

so then Mr Pinball will be selling (AUD) these at
 Classic - $11500
 Special - $12500
 LE - $13500

Especially in today's age where overseas pricing is so easily accessible, need to be transparent.

Probably wouldn't happen if there were multiple resellers.
