Creature dot matrix display issue
« on: April 13, 2018, 12:43:54 AM »
My Creature has started showing a slight issue with the display, which I'm sure is something that drives it rather than the display itself.

It's the original dot matrix display and it appears that the whole display has moved across to the right 1-2 columns (so that things normally displayed to the right are a further 1-2 columns over and so are cut off).

Also, when displaying the high scores, the numbers 2 and 3 are weird symbols.  The number 1 is just fine.

Any clues what might be going on?  Pic attached!  Thanks!

You can try re-seating the ribbon cables. In the DMD test, do those two columns illuminate ? It could be that those two columns are dead - but it is strange for two to go at the same time.

Thanks Strangeways. I'll try the ribbons but it's not that they're not working (test shows that but I will test again).  It's as if the whole image has moved 1 or 2 columns across to the right... Bit weird.
