Bally Popeye Flipper Issue
« on: December 15, 2018, 11:25:02 PM »
Hi.
During a few games, the right flipper on my Bally Popeye gets weaker and weaker until it stops working altogether. I then checked the fuses and the 3A SB Flipper Fuse is blown and when I replaced it the flipper's still dead and the fuse goes out again. Anyone encounter this issue or have any ideas what might cause this? All the other flippers work fine.
Thanks.

Sounds like the EOS is out of adjustment, or the coil winding / diode is open. You will keep blowing fuses until you determine the problem. First thing to check is the wiring to the EOS switch and the gap on the switch itself.

Thanks for that. I'll check the EOS gap and the wiring before I stick in any more fuses.

I adjusted the EOS and still had the issue of the right flipper going dead.  I tried switching the flipper opto boards around and now it's the left flipper going weak so it looks like I need a new opto board.
