So I Bought a Cyclone.
« on: March 31, 2020, 08:10:01 AM »
I was checking the facebook pinball groups yesterday when i saw a Williams Cyclone for sale. At $4,200 it was up there, but i have a beautifully restored Hurricane and this looked immaculate. Checked the photos quickly and said then and there that i'd take it at the asking price.
It was only later that i saw a link in the description to the video log where the owner completely rebuilt the machine from the ground up.

I'm talking new plastics, ramps, translight the works.

Bill is picking it up next week on his way back through and i genuinly can't wait. It's been a couple of months since i've bought a pin and i'm excited as hell to see this one arrive.

Anthony, not sure if you are a member here, but what a brilliant job you and your son have done. I'll truly cherish it.

“Hey you with the face”

I’ve always liked this game and hope to pick one up too at some point.  Post some pics when you get it.

Cyclone is in the house, Bill is headed to do a drop at McLean and then home to Brisbane.

Pics to come (of the machine, not Bill)

Couple of pics, looks right at home and plays well aside from the bounce from the silicone rubbers.

I love silicone rubbers. So many benefits to using them. The bounce is what I like best.

This bounces straight down the outlanes as soon as it touches the ones on the posts. I don't like the feel or the bounce on the flippers either, i like them to grip as i'm not much good. First time i've played with them and not a fan, but it's a small thing.

It always seems to happen after they’ve been moved. You’ve probably done so already but I’d try reseating connectors and checking the wire hasn’t broken at the solder joint on the motor. Hopefully it’s just something simple that’s rattled loose in its travels.
