Hybrid Black Rose Pic's so far
« on: August 25, 2009, 09:35:52 AM »
Just an update on the progress so far,
After all the cleaning and double /triple checks that this thing is going to work its time to start kitting out the new bits on the old playfield. Firstly changing over the old lift hinge to a pair of slide mechanism assy, tight fit but only ended up having to slightly move a g.i. and a flasher to make them fit. Next I needed to protect the cannon housing and motor as it now slides out this was going to be prone to damage, so I had to fit a pair of support bracket assemblies. Once fitted as the pictures show these needed to be longer to give the cannon motor protection, once measured I extended the brackets by 75mm (5mm past the motor of the cannon). This now let the brackets rest on the cab once fully extended and totally protected the motor of the cannon.
First problem that I have come across is that wms 95 games are hinged 15mm lower than earlier games, (the cabinet bolts that hold the slide mec are 15mm lower). If you look at wms 95 games they sit lower inside the cabinet and have a deeper apron.
Bugger!  all is not lost I can get my head around this later.
The light board behind the translight needed to be cut down,  with it being full size I needed to remove around 100mm. once cut and the lights all put back (only lost three) it was time to be fixed to the backbox. As you can see in the pictures in the link its not far from being completed. At the moment I am waiting for the glass for the translight and a few other bits and pieces.

Well that's about it for part two more to follow shortly. :D

Hybrid as in a mixture of the two different games designs, mainly the backbox, cabinet and slide playfield.
