Getaway inserts and Flipper issue
« on: December 02, 2009, 11:43:33 PM »
Hey guys just being doing a flipper test on my Getaway from the test menu and the right bottom does not perform in the hold test. I noticed the power dropping off a little also. What do I need to replace to fix it?

Also with the inserts on the playfield, do they just pop out, if I was to replace them with some others from another playfield in better condition?

The flipper problem could have to do with EOS (end of stroke). There is a switch activated when the flipper has travelled full stroke; if this switch is not activating you may get symptoms similar to those described.

I tried looking at that, but I do not have any idea on how to adjust it. It looks like I have to look up some how to guides me thinks. It was about time something went wrong with the flippers lol.

Checked EOS switch, made an adjustment, flipper seems stronger, but still does not perform the hold test. Could the coil be going? IS there something that I can do to test the strength of the coil?

If it works fine in game play, don't worry about the flipper in test. That test is funky and I never use it.

Remember it is only to hold the flipper when it is up there and wont have the power to lift it up at any speed.  At best it will slowly make its way up.  If it doesn't lift and you have no other issues don't worry.  If it is getting you have a look at the coil sleeve and make sure all the parts are clean.

Thanks guys. Adjusted the eos switch, flipper works well. Test is funky as others have put it so I wont worry.

Have a good new year everyone
