TZ Flipper EOS errors
« on: August 24, 2010, 08:00:04 PM »
I haven't fully investigate the problem and hope someone may have a simple, straight forward suggestion to this problem. I get EOS errors for both lower flippers, and the right upper. The flippers work fine however.

The EOS swicthes look ok and have a gap when not activated and closed/touching when the flipper is pressed. I have gone to the Single Switch test and sure enough the EOS switches for the three do not activate in the test. The left upper flipper EOS does show activation.

I have had reset issues as of late and have not gone through this process either. Usually the game may play fine for hours or could reset on any day. Unsure if this can cause fanthom errors??

Thanks

The EOS switches are connected back to the Fliptronics board so there could be a break to one of the wires on the switches or a broken wire at J906 on the Fliptronics. The fliptronics board could also have a fault where it is not detecting the switches. The Fliptronics boards are smart enough to drop the power back to a hold condition on the flippers if they do not detect the EOS after a short time. At least they will save your coils from frying *!@

The reset problem is probably a separate issue and you could start by changing BR2, C4, C5 on the driver board.

regards Derek

Thanks for the help. Had a look and found a common wire to all the flippers had broken off.
