Austin Powers fault , driving me crazy!
« on: August 07, 2010, 06:35:38 PM »
G'day all, In my collection I have a Stern "Austin Powers" pinball for several years, the kids and wife mainly play it and its always been on "extra easy" settings. When you play a game, for example when you shoot a ball and it goes straight out of play, the "shoot again" would light and you would get another ball straight away. (This was good for novice players), this no longer happens and you go straight to the next ball. Ive gone through all the settings with no luck, even tried all the re-sets. The "extra ball" feature still works, as does the light, but only when you get high scores/bonus to enable this where before it worked all the time if the ball was lost with a low score. Hoping someone has an idea.   Thanks

Hi Douggie,

I'm not 100% familiar with Austin Powers, but from a quick bit of reading there is a setting within the game setup called 'Auto Freeze'.

If the 'Auto Freeze' is set to 'auto' basically the game itself calculates the average length of time per ball in play and will then lengthen the ball save to adjust itself.

I believe you can change the auto freeze from auto to a set length of seconds.  If you have a manual handy it should explain the steps as I found the Stern / Sega menu systems quite good.

There may be another Austin Powers owner on the site with a manual who can chime in!

I'm guessing it would be under game adjustments somewhere.
