Happy New Year
« on: January 07, 2009, 12:45:10 PM »
Well, the testers have definitely been doing their job.  They found a few more bugs and made some great usability suggestions.  The things these guys, one in particular, are doing to the emulator can really best be described as STRESS TESTING ;-)  They are abusing it in new and interesting ways I never thought of.  I had never triggered the slam tilt.  One of our testers did and we didn't write code to properly handle it.  That's why testers are priceless.  They have definitely found things we might never have found.

The goal is to run the emulator for two weeks with no bugs or crashes.  Once we do this we'll head into beta testing.  Hopefully soon.  I need a break =)

Let me tell you from experience, if you don't test software properly, it can become a disaster when it goes live. These testers are doing you a real favour believe me. Sounds like you are doing things the right way. Congratulations on the progress.

You gotta let the testers do things to the machine that you would never have thought of... Some of the things I've seen kids do to machines in Amusement Centres just amazes me, but I now use those same things I saw to test any machines I reco before it goes out.
