Updating Pinball Roms
« on: August 11, 2011, 10:30:50 AM »
I just bought a wh20,aussie delivered in very nice condition but it is running an old rom version.
I want to update the roms to the latest home version LH6.
I have found the chip on ebay for sale, is it easy to change the rom chip or do you need to send it away?
Any help would be appreciated.

Contact either Skybeaux or Beaky - they have a ROM burning service and can look after this for you.

Brilliant, I would much prefer to do locally than deal with ebay. I will get onto it. Thanks very much guys.

Well worth updating the ROM's.  I purchased a ROM burner a while back to help out with my machines and my local buddies.

Fairly easy job to swap them over (you'll loose your high scores) but just be super careful removing and installing the new ROM.  Easy to bend / break pins but follow Ken's instructions and he will point you in the right direction.

If your batteries have not been changed in a while, good time to do it or install a remote battery holder.

Got some from Ken a couple of weeks ago, nice quick service too.

I got the latest chip for my White Water a few weeks ago and definitely worth it, it's a great improvement for the game with the drain save and the extra light controls and sounds.

I got mine from Skybeaux - great price and excellent to deal with.

Roms arrived all good the other day.
Thanks to Ken for sending them up and thanks to Andrew for his offer to help install and do some pin repairs.
