Freddy A nightmare on elm backboard bulbs not flashing
« on: October 05, 2011, 08:52:45 PM »
Hi all as above i have a Freddy A nightmare on elm street pinball and the 9 or so bulbs that are ment to flash in the back board just stay on hard. I have seen video s of this machine on youtube and while its being played or just sitting there they all flash but with mine while its just sitting there in demo the whole backboard turns on and off every 20 secs and while playing its just on all the time.

Any info would be great

Scott

When Beaky(Andy) comes to my place next, I will get him to look at my machine closely to look at what on your machine may be the problem. My gut feeling is that you definately have a problem on one of your boards which may require a fix. I had the same problem on my dirty harry, and I traced it to both a transistor on a board, and a melted short circuited problem with a flasher and its melted/damaged metal base.

I will ask Andy to do me a favour and look at my machine and the schematic. Where are u located ?   !@#

If they are ALL not working it sounds more like you have lost a voltage somewhere? Popped fuse maybe or bad plugs and sockets.

You need to look at a circuit diagram and work out how the LAMPS are driven and go from there.

Replacing things "willy-nilly" is normally frustrating and expensive.
