Playfield inserts a question
« on: May 25, 2011, 01:55:57 PM »
Just wondering, does anyone know or have a theory as to why playfield inserts lift?
I read that it is due to globe heat but can't figure out how or why it happens  !@#

+1

Then there's issues during manufacturing and general wear. But shrinkage and expansion due to heat sounds like the most obvious !

Well my friend recently picked up a Demoman that had alot of sunken inserts.
With a heat gun we managed to tap them them back to the correct level.
I've seen games with sunken inserts & worn wood around them, Lucky that hadn't happened to his DM.
