Yep in Vic all cars are the same price.... $6xx..  If your Suburb is considered country its about $50 cheaper.
If they charged me $1000 for rego I would definitely be up for an Rx8... nice ride.

I go though the same thing each year as well with mutiply rego's.

Back in June I couldn't stand the thought of having to pay $670 for one of my cars so i didn't renew it. (Car in question only gets driven about 10times a year.)

Lucky for me this car is 25 plus years old, so I did the ground work and hit the car club i'm a member with to apply for Historic Rego.

Cut a long story short, I now get to drive the car any 45 days of the year and it only costs me $64 a year #*#, plus insurance is cheaper as well. $#$

Cheers Mark.

My 2000 model Camry s/wagon is due end of this month, have had the rego inspection, and ctp greenslip done, will cost me $720 all up  ^&^
Really bad timing for me at the moment as i'm moving soon, and have finished up at my job here.

I was going to register the car for 6 months, but ended up paying for 12 months on the greenslip so im stuck with the cost for 12 months now.

I Used to have two cars, my daily driver and my "toy" an Escort panelvan that was done up to the max that hardly got driven (only clocked up around 3000kms a year). It was classed as a commercial vehicle and was cheaper than the escort sedan i also had at the time to register.

Boat rego in South Aust. They are now doing it on length. My cruiser is just under 20M.
Rego last year was $80, this year $222, next year it will be $444 with rumours of $888 the year after.
I think they are trying to hit houseboat owners but us traditional boat owners are caught up as well.
EM score motors wanted- nonworking, broken, burnt, etc..

Sounds good, I only drive my Torana a few times a year and was thinking that club rego may be the go. What is the fine print on the 45days per year do they have to be club meetings days or can they be just a sunday drive by yourself?

Each club is different, i have to show my face/car at at least 2 events each year. So other than having to do 2 club events a year I'm free to use as I please.

Also theres two different lenght permits, 45 days or 90 days which can be used at your leisure. I'm going around to a mates place today, i'll take the brock for a spin and all i have to do is fill out the log book before i go.
Cheers Mark.
