DE MAV - 2 small issues (i hope)
« on: December 11, 2011, 10:35:53 PM »
Hi guys,

I've got 2 issues, hope you guys can help me with them

So when I first started fixing the blown bulbs on my DE Maverick, for some reason the top bank of lights (2 spots, each globe under the top lanes plastics that run the ball to the bumpers, and a couple of others next to these) stopped working. I assumed that the wire had come loose somewhere and that i'd need to resolder them (something i'll learn soon, but don't yet know how to do). I had a bit of a look but couldn't find anything loose - but there are so many wires that i figured i'd just missed the loose one. About 15 minutes ago the globes all came on and were working fine for about 10 minutes, then they stopped again just as suddenly... Is there anything else that this could be if they came back on again? and if so what could i look for/do to fix.

The second issue is that all of a sudden, when i press the left flipper button (which works fine), i get this secondary sound that lasts about a second and sounds like a whiring of some sort. Any ideas what it may be?

cheers.

oh let me know if more info or photos or something would help the diagnosis.

Sounds like connector issue on the CPU / driver board in back box.

ok.
I've gone through the manual and have established that the lights in question are GIs, I had a bit of a fiddle with all the wires on the CPU board to make sure they are well connected and havent managed to change anything. Looking at the manual I can work out where the connection is for these lights, and just by going off the colours of the wires i'm still stumped - is there any simple way to locate the problem or should i just get a real pintech to come and have a look?

cheers.

The GI connectors burn on Data east machines .
On the Powersupply board , the top RHS connector , and also on the PPB board ( the board below the Cpu board ) , the top LHS connector.
Check both of those to see if they are burned at all.
