Problems with Gottlieb System 3 slingshot

Hi Everyone,

I have a System 3 Gottlieb Big Hurt machine that is currently having troubles with the left side sling shot. When a new game starts it fires quickly 3-4 times (sometimes more) when the ball is not near then repeats the process one or two times more then shuts down for the rest of the game.

This only happens with the left hand slingshot, the right hand side slingshot behaves in accordance with game play. Sadly the slingshot not working  impacts the game play and scoring.

I am working hard to learn and service this pinball as it is my first, but I am just unsure how to fix this problem.

Anyone know where to start?

Hi Adam,

It will be the contacts that sit behind the rubber, if the contacts are too close together with movement of machine etc they touch and this causes it to trigger the coil.

With machine off bend contacts a little to give some air gap between the slingshot contacts

Works like a charm.....with the exception of me falling short of the scores needed to get my name up in lights! But me sucking isn't a technical problem!!
