Bally - Skateball Plastics - CPR will be doing them
« on: March 14, 2012, 09:37:41 PM »
For those with a 1980 Bally Skateball, I wrote to CPR and got this answer in relation to a enquiry of plastics and playfield.

We are running Skateball plastics sometime this year or next, the artwork is all completed and ready for film.  We just haven't gotten to them yet.  They aren't the "hottest" plastic set waiting in the queue.

As for playfields, we're booked solid by the titles all the Art Team members choose to draw (see our preorder page) and many are being drawn as we speak.  We've got enough playfields submitted and/or being drawn to keep us filled with runs until 2015 or longer.  We're on a moratorium for playfield artwork, and those who are drawing now are grandfathered in.  We're not adding new titles unless they are by order of our Bally/Williams licensor.  Skateball playfields being done would be something for the distant future, when we're through with runs of 100-200 units, and down into the B-titles doing 50-70 unit runs.  Those playfields are for 2016+

Thanks

Kevin"

So once they are done a set for me thanks, just a waiting game now.

2 sets for me as I have a complete game with 1 cracked plastic and then I have a full spare populated playfield with harness with 3/4 of the plastics gone or cracked otherwise playable.

I may consider, but the original plastics on my Skateball are in reasonably good nick.

I have never ordered from CPR.  From a quick look on their webpage, it appears you can pre-order PFs, but can you pre-order plastics, or do you need to wait until they become available on the web?
