Tron - Custom Trim Mod
« on: March 13, 2012, 10:02:44 PM »
This is a nice touch, but dare say one for those who like orange and like blinging things up. Shows you what you can do though and shows that the ideas have been floating around before the ac/dc le's come up with there trims.

Looks like a powdercoat.

Agree with you on the orange looking a bit off, swinks.

If it were me, I probably would have preferred it to blend in to the existing artwork (blue) rather than stand out.

There's a CV with purple powdercoat trim in the background of one of the pics - pretty sure GAP (a retail pinball restorer in the US did that one). Dunno about that colour scheme either..... :tumble:

Struggling for originality are you creek2555? Or trying to beat the spam filter?

Creek is now up one without a paddle I'm afraid.

Bruce from AMD has the Stern black rails (with rounded flipper button guards etc) in stock for around $100 incl postage a set. (if u want to add to a machine and keep original ones stock etc)

I like the fact the guy has done something unique. Different colours powdercoated could look T'riffic. Powder coating is so cheap, around $15 to $20 each rail, so candy apple/reds/blues/oranges etc etc can be had easily. I like the fact he tied in the colour with the legs as well. Orange is a bit different but maybe a real nice bright sky blue/metalic could have been nice as well. Thanks for posting guys, it look great.  ^^^

The orange trim looks good, I might have to add it to Tron when I pick mine up. ()

Got my attention - did you get one, do tell.

As for the trim, it is loud but I like it.

It would be good to see someone locally buy a TRON.
I was seriously looking at a TRON as well, but after watching several videos, the audio really really let it down for me. The audio was loud, but almost non existant.  I will have to play one in the flesh before I make my mind up. The colours n everything else on TRON look amazing, just a question on the audio ???

Loud is good, if it's too loud your too old.
