My pins
« on: March 22, 2009, 10:08:51 PM »
My collection is made up of the following Gottlieb EMs:
Aquarius (bought at the Luna Park auction about 1981)
Jungle Princess
Super Spin
Pioneer
Volley (thanks to Tony Mather)
High Hand (thanks to Tony Mather)
ProFootball (project to complete)
At the back of my garage is a Snow Derby cabinet used for spare parts.
Wanted: GTB Aquarius backglass. Any playfield bits and backglasses from any EMs - nothing is junk to me.

Ah, so you scored that Pro Football - recent pickup?

It looks like the sort of pin I would be interested in.

Hopefully a pic has been uploaded of my collection. At the back is a stack that is Pioneer, ProFootball and the Snow Derby carcass.
I have some photos that I took at the Luna Park auction that I will dig out.
Aquarius has been a great machine -survived years in a shed, being dragged from house to house and 3 kids.

You have done a great job on the Jungle Princess. My Jungle Princess was my second machine. Bought it at auction in Dec 2006 (the one at Annandale) for $900. At the time I thought I paid too much. It was in good condition and has worked beautifully since. I wanted a 2 player so my son and I could play together. It is still my son's favourite machine.

Luna Park and my Aquarius
« Reply #13 on: March 26, 2009, 10:26:07 PM »
I was at the Luna Park auction and I bought Aquarius. I think I paid $140. There was a fairly big crowd and everything was auctioned (even the signs that said "mens toilet"). It was sad to see the old park end its life. Tony Mather has a fabulous video on the history of Luna Park.
A few weeks before the auction, I talked my way in and got to wander around the park. It was like a ghost town and if time had stood still - there were still coffee cups in the tearoom that had been left there since the fire.
Here are some of the photos I took at the time

Great pictures of your collection and Luna Park. Thanks for sharing. That last picture of the Ghost Train still looks a little eerie
