SAM Sound Systems help !!!
« on: January 22, 2013, 10:54:00 AM »
First up , I know very little about speakers and how they work in regards to a pinball . ( In fact I know nothing about speakers full stop . )
I have read that the SAM system , whilest It has recorded sounds better , It doesn't reproduce It through Its speakers in stereo. They are sort of Mono . Am I off the money ?
And does a speaker upgrade introduce the magic of stereo ? If not  , how can I achieve stereo within the machine  itself without going external ?
Penny for your thoughts .

You can't make stereo from mono. The very word - 'stereo' - means two.

The same as you can't make cream from cow shit!

Forget it - appreciate the sound you have and devote your thoughts to polishing the playfield, swapping out worn rubbers etc
Replacement Pinball PCBs that remain faithful to the originals

can't make cream from cow shit %.% %.% %.% %.% Thats great Mike.. i'll have to remember that saying!!

Couldv'e used that one a few months ago when a mate of mine had this bizarre idea of putting a crossover and tweeter into his Zac Time machine pin to "make the speech sound better or clearer"  @.@ @.@ took me ages to convince him it wouldn't help. told him it'd be the same result as putting an old 8 track cartridge player thru hi fi speakers and expecting it to sound good  ::)

You also can't polish a turd, but you can sprinkle glitter on it.
