Just like to post another finding for anyone that may come across this same problem. I am 100% sure its a pcb problem and pretty sure its the scr's as dumb arse me just twigged i have another bally game that would have a similar pcb. So i plugged it in and whammo the globes are a goer.

I'm so embarassed at not realizing this was an option open to me.  &^&

Yepp the SCRs can and DO fail from time to time on these boards. I've replaced shitloads of them over the years  *%*

As for testing them, its really not worth the hassle, if in doubt i usually just replace them as they are fairly cheap to buy and its just quicker to do.
