Old recording tapes - like restoring old pinnies.

Just noticed this article. This might be like looking for gold nuggets. I wonder if someone with money would do something with these tapes before their destruction in May?

If you don't remember the 70s then you were on drugs.
If you remember playing pinball in the 70s you were having a good time.

I have hundreds of old Casette tapes. Most are 20-30 years old. I was going to sell some of the really rare stuff, but when I put them in my Cassette player, they sounded like crap. They deteriorate over time.

Depends on what tape and storage. My dad has a Teac M-10 that he bought brand new in 1970. This is a reel to reel tape deck and was well advanced at the time. He recorded a number of reels with music as he could play 4 hours straight. He also made a point of only using BASF tapes which were the dearest and best quality. He put on some tapes last Christmas and they played as good as the day they were recorded 40 years earlier. He stores the tapes in a cool, dark and dry cabinet.
