Replacing a coil with a difference!
« on: March 15, 2013, 12:56:39 PM »
 Why non-pinball discussion?

Well I'm glad you asked.

My teenage daughter has been bragging at school about her soldering ability, which I'll admit is fair.

But its Dad to the rescue on this one.

This picture shows a replacement coil for an iphone.  Apparently it's a tiny little SMD coil, wrapped with tiny little wire.

If you also notice the little SM fuse(from nintendo ds)in the middle of the pic, just for a comparison.

Should be fun! &^& %.%

Replaced quite a few of the Nintendo fuses over the last few years. (also lost my fair share) #@#

Good magnification and nice hakko smd tweezer iron make the job a bit easier.
