Wh20 Sound Issue

Hi all, just a quick question regarding the sound board used in White Water

I recently bought a Flipper Fidelity Speaker replacement kit since the old speakers were falling apart, the sound board works but the audio quality goes shocking once you go past volume 10.

I was looking at replacing the electrolytic capacitors on the board just because I’m always suspicious of them drying out

I also found after some research that c21 & 22 the 10uF TANT caps can cause some problems

Has anyone here come across this problem before? am I going down the right road replacing the caps?

Tantalum capacitors are hideous and should be banned - they cause all sorts of odd problems although the most common fault with them is they short circuit.

+1, I have come across these tantalum caps being short circuit MANY times.

Can't hurt - just use electros

Just double check the schematics - i thing C21 is a 1uF, not 10uF

ok, i will check the drawings out this arvo when i get home. and i will use electros this time. much easier to get
