Guess what rocked up on a pallet today.

A customer I deal with knew I was into pinball machines, he rocked up in a truck today and said he had a small present for me. Two for them.
They have a ‘LG’ 42” plasma, which weigh a ton (I can’t lift it by myself) and a few cooling fans.

They came with no keys, so had to drill the locks off. They were very ‘CREATIVE’ with the sound system.

A removable HD in the bottom of one of them. Not sure what it does yet, but found a slot for it.

The guy told me he imported these two machines ($10,000 each) from TAB Austria (Not TABCorp Australia) ten years ago and installed them in Sydney pubs, but did not make him much money after a year, so they have been sitting in a warehouse rack for at least 8 years. Were almost going to the tip!
The front section of the machine houses the NRI coin mech, a track ball; two flipper buttons each side and a two buttons, on the front.
And I’m not sure of this one. Maybe a dongle?

Before I even think of plugging in any power, I plan to remove the PC cage, blow out the dust from the motherboard remove the power supply and bench test first. I’ve previously learnt the hard way, plugging AC into an old desktop PC that was off for a few years. It went off with a kaboom 
As a bonus, found some loose change.
I will do some research on VP forums on this machine. Worst case scenario, maybe install a new PC running Future Pinball.
Anyone got one of these machines? Or suggestions/pointers?
I’ll post more info/progress, once I get one up and running, hopefully over the weekend.

I couldn't help myself. Had to see if I could get one up and running.
I dismantled the PC PSU, as the cooling fan was clogged up with dust. A quick blast of it and the mother board took care of that. Bench tested the PSU for correct voltages, plugged everything back in and waited for a bang on power up.
Both plasma’s don’t work. Tick, tick, tick, so hoping to find dried out screen PSU capacitors, when I take one apart over the weekend. Only other LCD I had, was a 15” VGA desktop screen.
 It does have a serial input on screen, but I can’t see a touch screen glass (definitely not IR), but will find out upon dis-assembly. If it does, that’s a mother of a touch screen glass 
Machine powered up first time. Operates in Windows 98 and takes about 2 mins to get to main menu. Still can’t believe the motherboard battery held its charge.
Only three pinball games, but does have some other arcade games.
The el-cheapo PC speakers actually pump out some great sound. A constant music file that runs in the back ground whilst idle and has heaps of speech during game play. Can’t wait too see the table on the 42” screen?

It may be called virtual pinball, but it is not the VP that you can download and play on your PC
but start a thread at vpforums.org , I would guess some people there may have some information anyway
