CPR- Expo
« on: October 03, 2008, 04:38:54 PM »
just a little update

CPR did not make Expo   apparently they were stopped at the US border  and  they were refused entry
in to the US   as there visa was as a visitor   not a merchant, they apparently had a van full of undeclared  goods
and the US custom services pulled them up

Baisically CPR got busted at the border for trying to smuggle illegal goods into the country.  The guys at CPR are a good mob but I can't say I'm on their side on this one.  It is illegal and it is not fair trade for them to sell goods into any country when they don't pay the proper taxes or duties.  The companies that do business in the US have to pay the taxes and if companies could just walk in and sell goods without paying any taxes or duties then they have an unfair trade advantage.

It's a good showing from Oz, there's about a dozen here.
The ramp business was very very good to me.

I think they had a visitor's visa - and you cannot use that to sell items in the USA..Sounds like an honest (but stupid) mistake  *.*

A shame, as I think they do a great job for the hobbyist.

James - Are the Aussies behaving themselves ?

Has Mark made you a coffee yet ?

I've heard our US friends are such great hosts and look after Aussies when they visit.. The more I hear of the trip, the more envious I become.
