Bally brown box solonoid tester owners??
« on: July 03, 2013, 09:28:42 PM »
Hi guys thought I'd start my search local I've tried a couple of guys who own these with no luck.   Who owns these test rigs?

And most importantly who owns the solonoid tester with the soundboard upgrade???

While searching for info to get mine going I found a you tube video of one being used to test a soundboard found some paper work on the conversion but its not very detailed sounds like it was a ready made kit.

If anyone owns one of these or even knows anyone with one can you please pass on any info you can get?    I'm sure all owners would like to do this upgrade if possible

is it cooler because it's the original device? or because it does more?

we can build testers that shit on the old stuff and far more versatile for a wide range of stuff these days.

just a thought.

Bally test rigs are fantastic pieces of equipment. They are designed (are therefore restricted) for the boards of the time period. I bought mine because "I had to have it". It is a piece of history.

I have all the rigs except the Lamp Driver and I believe there is also a sound tester. What is the "upgrade" you speak of Daniel ?

On the solonoid tester you add a coupe of extra switches and obviously some other parts to allow the testing of sound boards ill see if I can find the video
