Hi all,
Posting the obligatory "i'm new" thread - happy to be coming on board! I purchased my first pinball earlier this year, it's a Sega StarWars Trilogy that's been kept in good condition. I've always ehad an interest in pinball but never really got to play as many as i've wanted. I guess an early indication that I'd end up with a collection was when I rented a table for me 21st birthday party - a Gottleib 'Frank Thomas Big Hurt'. I didn't really know what I was after when we went to pick one up, but the guy recommended it and everyone had a good time with it. I'd like to own one, one day...
I'm not particularly well versed in electronics, but I've been under the hood of my StarWars table to replace some bulbs, and have perfomed one minor repair... one of the four tabs that made the Tie drop bank pop up and down snapped off. I'm not entirely sure why, but i'm guessing heat stressed it out over time since it was the one closest the coil that moves the mechanism up and down. Anyway I had a frend braze the tab back on (not pretty underneath, but nobody's going to see!) and I re-installed the bracket and it works fine.. no need to buy a new part! I've also replaced the balls and have done some minor cleaning of the playfield.
My next task will be replacing the rubbers and giving it a proper clean. I've enjoyed planning it all out!
As far as next purchases go, I will admit I have been eying off a few Jurassic Park tables...
Anyway, looking forwards to spending some time here. Looks like a great resource.
