replacement fuse
« on: May 30, 2014, 09:10:56 PM »
Hi Guys
Just blew a fuse when I turned on my Cacpom Breakshot. It's the main line fuse inside the little silver box inside the cabinet just above the on/off switch underneath the front right of machine.
I have a couple of spares from when this happened on my T2 but the T2 is a 4A and the Capcom is a 5A.
T2: 4A 250V 313
Capcom: 5A 250V 313.
I figure that because its a lower A it cant hurt to try it but wanted to check just to be sure that I couldn't do any damage. I wanted to play later tonight when my mate comes over and wont be able to get the correct fuse until next week.
Thanks in advance.
Tim

You can try it but fuses don't pop for no reason. I'm betting you have a problem somewhere.

Thanks Mike I put it in turned it on with my fingers crossed and all good played a game then turned it on and off a few more times and still good so time will tell I guess.
I't cant hurt to leave it in for the time being can it as I might leave it for a week or 2 now that it's working before I get time to go and get some new fusses.
Thanks again
Tim

Check you fuse holder, if it is the original one then it might need replacement.
Those original fuse holders were really poor quality

A: you have arrested a surge
B: your surge arrester is nearly cooked
c: another problem elsewhere  :lol
D: fuses are there just to be a pain in the arse, bypass fuse with a nail or 35 amp fuse (all those BOZO"S who have done this in the past seem to have got it right until a problem really arises in this case call "000" and ask for Fire Brigade)
E disregard d: <.>  unless there is a 35 amp fuse installed, you will need to call 000
