System 11 display
« on: May 29, 2009, 11:40:13 PM »
My whirlwind display has suddenly gone faded with various segments flickering and some not working at all.Played 2 games-went away to have dinner-came back to gibbly gook. Been working fine for extended periods up until tonight. Any thoughts please?

Jeff - Check the connectors to the display.

Thanks Nino but I tried that 1st, i.e removed all the plugs one by one while looking at the display to see if the fault was there inc. the ribbon cable both ends. Didn't have my glasses on at the time so I couldn't see if it had any dicky terminals-corrosion etc.. Next thought???. Just went out and fired it up after being switched off fo 2 hrs and Top line is almost!!! ok but the bottom line is 25% at best

sounds like a power supply issue.

Check R1 and R4 on the Power Supply. They should read 39K. Check to see if they have cold joints.
