F-14 tomcat pop bumper switch.
« on: December 10, 2015, 02:25:20 AM »
Hi everyone. Just wondering if anyone can help me with a restoration I'm doing on a tomcat? This is my first attempt at restoring a pinball. I'm missing the pop bumper switch and having a hard time trying to find one. I can get a new similar switch but have no idea what capacitors/ resistors are needed for it as it doesn't come with any. I've finished everything else on it but this (including total cabinet restore and installing a nos play field). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

It's WMS part no. A 7459-7.

Should be available online new, or I probably have a spare used one here if interested.

Thanks Steevsee. Every where I tried for that part number was out of stock. If you have one that would be great. Does it have the capacitors/resistors on it? I'm still learning about the electronics of pinball and have no idea which ones to use. Cheers

I'll check what I have and make sure its complete.
Usually just need a diode.

Edit
Just had a look and this switch stack has a diode, capacitor and resistor all fitted.  You may to source a new spoon though, which should be readily available.  Will post photo soon.

Cleaned this stack and installed new diode and resistor.  Tested and reinstalled original cap.

Wire connection points are solder free with component leads only wired in place.

Also found and installed a good (used) spoon.

$12.00 plus postage sound OK? !@#

Pm me if interested.

Just realised that my switch is actually part A-7459-4, not -7.

I can't see any obvious difference between the two though.
