One plunger to push ball into play... one plunger to shoot ball.. whats the 3rd on LHS for?

I haven't read the article yet, but I'd guess the left hand plunge is to release the captured balls?

Given a push coin mechanism is not included, the separate rod in the left replaces the coin mechanism function to drop the balls to start a new game.  The same way a push coin mech works in an old pool table.
