What are some of the good / challenging skills shots
« on: January 11, 2015, 03:56:35 PM »
Subject was brought up on another thread so may as well have it's own thread.

Many skills shots involve lighting up a flashing insert in the top inlane which is pretty easy, can you share some of the better ones.

Theme aside Baywatch has 3 different ones and if you were able to get all three in one game (one on each ball) you got a special bonus, I only ever did it once before I sold the game and luck would have it I got it on video  &&. And I am not the best player but fluked the 3 skills shots.

I like T2, timing the trigger to hit the moving light.
TZ, Pinbot, WCS94 and the like are good as they rely on a bit of finess to work out how far to plunge.
No point having a plunger if it is not used for some sort of skill shot.

Rfm has not a bad one and its got a fire button.

1. Fire without holding a flipper and drop it down the lit top inlane scoring 600K+.
2. Fire while holding on a flipper and the ball will fire passed the top inlanes an you have a brief moment to make a ramp  or loop shot scoring 1M+ plus 3 saucer lights
Still loving my Metallica Premium

Teachers Pet
There is a single lane at the top of the playfield
Trick is to plunge to that lane and hope the pop bumper underneath pushes the ball back up the lane

TAF - Too hard and no score, too soft and have a nice swim in the moat.

TOTAN - snake basket skill shot.

I like changing the plunger spring tension over from time to time just to watch visitors who think they mastered the skill shot last time they played the machine, flounder with it.  <.>

My favorite is Pinball Magic's roller coster like shot looped to the magician's hat.

RBION, bugger me it is hard and on a low scoring game 1MILL is not to be sneezed at and that is incremental.
If it isn't broke, it isn't pinball.

Even a basic skill shot in Gottlieb's Dragon to hit the A lane. Off the best possible start when hit. Takes a nice weighted plunger release to hit it. Pinball at its purest.
