WTB Fishtales cabinet Decals
« on: January 21, 2015, 02:16:28 PM »
Hi All,  $.$

I have finally decided to get a new set of cabinet decals for my fishtales.

If anyone has a set that they want to sell, please let me know.

Also, if anyone has information on good or bad experiences with both purchasing  and applying decals, that would be appreciated too.

I have seen that several places sell decals, are they all the same? Or does quality vary?

Cheers,

Dan

Agreed with above.  I've used a set of Waynes on my last Fish Tales and the quality was outstanding.

Keep in mind, it all comes down to prep on the cab.

Beware of others selling the cheapo inkjet quality knock offs.  I've seen them and the ink literally rubs off after a few uses

The Next Gen have no peers. These are the real deal. Be VERY aware of the inkjet crap and be very aware of the games sold with new decals. I've already replaced fake and cheap art on two pins in the last 2 years.

Preparation is 90%, application is 10%.

Specific to Fish Tales - centre the start button artwork.

Thanks for the heads up on the start button! A youtube video I watched mentioned that also.

Is there an order to applying the decals? Sides, then front? or front, then sides? this might be a silly a question, but if you don't ask, you don't learn.

Cheers

Normally I do headbox first (its easy), then front, then sides.

Some decals you need to do front first, then line up the sides so the artwork matches.

One big help for the front is to make up a 'plug' for the coin door hole. Cut a piece of timber out that fits snugly in the hole, so that when you apply the decal it doesn't sag in the hole and cause all sorts of dramas
