Roadshow fuse 112 blowing
« on: November 09, 2015, 04:27:27 PM »
Fuse 112 blew and I have isolated it down as far as the fliptronics 2 board. Fuse does not blow when the fliptronics 50 VAC is disconnected all other solenoids will run in test mode ok.
With the 50 VAC connected to the fliptronics 2 board and all other plugs disconnected except the ribbon cable, the fuse blows immediately I put the flipper test on.
Hope you might be able to assist

Welcome to the forum.

Possibly you have a bad bridge rectifier on the 50 volt line.

Do you have a meter with diode test function?

Thanks for the welcome Steevsee

I didn't suspect the bridge at first because the fuse wasn't blowing until I activated the Flipper test after removing the flipper fuses so if the bridge was bad it would blow a fuse as soon as power was applied. Of course despite being an electrician, I have embarrassed myself because to make the flipper test work, you need to push in the door switches to apply the 50 VAC. Now that I am testing properly, the fuse blows as soon as I apply the 50 VAC. I have tested the bridge and one leg is shorted. Not the first time the door kill switch has caught me out.

Cool.  Should be all good once a new rectifier is installed.  ^^^
