Unfortunately, this restoration became unfinancial, and will be a parked restoration until I finish off the backlog. It will be completed and sold as a High End Restoration most likely in 2019.

That’s a shame but I guess also a great opportunity for someone to grab a stunning game when it’s done.

It is a shame. Unfortunately, when restoring games to this level, it starts off with the intention of "whatever it costs, and time frame is no issue" and ends up with "You had the game for 3 years and money is tight". It is the time inbetween dropping off the game, changing the scope to include New Backglass, playfield, plastics set and then a repaint which caused the delays. Once the goal posts move, then I have to rely on suppliers - in this case - CPR and Pinball Pimp. Once CPR release the Playfield and backglass, all that is needed are the stencils. When they were released, I started the repaint as all the pieces of the puzzle came together. To this point, I've paid for everything and then I've paid for paint and supplies. I stopped at the cabinet as I needed a progress payment and also a previously requested progress payment. Nothing appeared in my account. I'm out of pocket with yet another unfinancial project. The owner and I came to an amicable agreement, so that's great, but I'm out of pocket until I sell it. But it is the lost hours on the game that could have been used for financial projects.

Suffice to say, this project and 2-3 others have taught me some valuable lessons in running a business. You can't JUST be a "Restorer". You are a Project Manager, Accounts Payable Clerk, Helpdesk Coordinator and Financial Officer !

That is a real shame mate, it was looking so good. Hopefully it all works out and you can recover your costs.

Yeah that sure sucks forever chasing your tail to pay for other people’s parts.   Shouldn’t have any drama selling a high end evel once it’s done

It will sell, but I'm not fielding offers until I've caught up with the current customer restorations. If I was to agree to a sale of the EK, then I'll have a deadline set. That's the LAST thing I want to deal with while others have been waiting longer !
