Attack From Mars, playfield swap
« on: March 18, 2018, 02:20:00 PM »
Started off by just wanting to replace worn out ramps with new ones fitted with SS flaps
Once I removed the ramps I realized that there was not much more to an Attack From Mars. I had most of the parts, so I decided to go for a full playfield swap

Everything will be either cleaned (preferred), replaced (most parts for this game are available) , or rechromed

Remove everything from the top of the playfield

Remove all the mechanics from under the playfield.
I will remove the wiring harness later

Even with everything removed, it was still heavy and awkward to pull it out of the cabinet

Still love this game after many years. Is the replacement playfield new or restored Pete?

Mirco repro
had it for years
been reading up on pinside, the dimples for the slingshots are slightly off, so I will have to be careful there
the strobe PC needs a little work, if I can find the part should be easy

my biggest problem is the guy I have used to do my chroming in the past has closed, they say there is another guy, but his place looked closed too

I have an early run mirco in mine too. They are very nice, looking forward to seeing the progress.

Great to see you enjoying pins again Pete. AFM is a simple layout, yet addictive. They look AMAZING restored, so I will be following with interest.
