Williams The Getaway maulty ball problem
« on: June 08, 2020, 08:02:11 PM »
Need some help with my Getaway  hs 2.,, I have a mysterious fault in multy ball mode.
When I lock the 3rd ball, becon lights display does its thing and that's it, the game then hesitates and then starts doing a ball surch and finaly kicks the first ball out and starts multy ball.   I did switch tests on all ball lock switches all ok .
The other strange thing is the game will sometimes crash, or reset and there is no errors on test report.   Looked for the usual,,,  wires off, checked diodes and connectors on boards.
Also checked the ball lock coil and tests ok.
Got me stumped any help be appreciated....

Small update, I could not work out what was causing the fault, after trial and error I decided to replaced the switch matrix chip just too see what would happen. Replaced the
ULN2803APG as I had a couple of spares. Fault has gone and plays as it should now.  I ordered sum new micro switches and diodes for the ball lock just to be sure.
No ball lock issus now, fingers crossed...
More fun to fix than to play sometimes.

Thanks for the update. I assumed it would be the switches. Enjoy the game !
