Personally I don't like the look of the LED displays.  I've tried both pinled and pinscore.

I would like to experiment with the PinLED system in a Bally - Playboy etc..

It is a difficult question to answer - and maybe not cost effective. Bally Glass for the displays (6 Digit) are US$30 - $35. If you had to do four - US$140 + VS PinLED US$200...

I guess if you cannot find the HV board, then at least you have an alternative. You might have to try RGP or Mr Pinball classifieds, Nuggy.

Why not use the Williams H/V section replacement board for the H/V? The you can still use the old P/S and have the correct voltages for the display... I think the transformer output should be fine for it.

Hmmm, yep you are right on that.

Which Power supply do you have exactly?

After looking at the schematics for the 520-5000-00 and the 520-5047-00, you could modify the latter to work like the earlier one does. If you change D9 and D10 to 1N4764 (100V Zener), remove D11 and R14 and disable the +12V supply, it should work. I have not done this before though, but the H/V section on these two boards is very similar to begin with.

You may be able to do this on the 520-5047-01 and 520-5047-02 boards as well... but will require a bit more work and comparison.

I have all 4 schematics here if you need them, PM me if you do.
