Hi all,
I'm looking for info about Williams Sys-6 (or other Sys') Sound Board Sound Rom.
Looking at the schematic, i find it hard to believe that a 512byte rom is generating all the sounds.
A switch selects between "tone/boing" sounds and "synth" sounds, yet i can't see how this is done for so many sounds in the game?
It looks like the rom patterns feed into a D-A chip to produce the analog audio out to speaker amp.
Does anyone have info or memory maps of how the sounds are mapped in these roms etc? any links i should look at?
The reason i ask, is that i wanted to either replace some sound FX, or at least add background music into my pinnie, which might be as simple as mixing the audio internally anyway.
Marty.
