Help with JP part number

Hey guys,

Have had a few angry comments from mates saying that my Jurassic Park is a drain moster down the left side. So i check the level and the everything appears to be nice and level/even but then i noticed one of the posts (for a lack of a more scientific term) down the side was missing. Here is what it looks like on the right hand side and what is SHOULD look like:

Notice the post between the two inserts:


However it is missing on the right hand side and all i can see is where one used to be: Notice drill/ screw hole between the two inserts:


Anywho, i haven't had any luck trying to identify an appropriate substitute/replacement part for this and would love any help i could get so my scores get slightly less embarressing!

I have a JP and it is exactly the same as yours. There is no post there on the left hand side and there appears to be a pre-drilled hole for it. I'd always felt however that there has never been a post there, otherwise I reckon the hole would be bigger.

I'd often wondered if there should be a post there and had considered asking here, but never got around to it. I agree, it is can be easy to lose the ball down that side.

It might be interesting to hear whether or not any other JP owner have a post there (and what part number it is so that it can be ordered).

Hi Steve.

Can't say exactly whether JP should have the post there but I'll have a look on my DE Star Wars tonight (I know there is one on the left side . . not sure about the right ) . Being both DE pins the part number should be the same .

As for the post never actually ever being there , that is a possibility too . I recently discovered on my Williams Indiana Jones that there are/were 2 plastics up towards the back of the playfield that had holes in them where they would attach to a post but there was no post there . One of them had a small indentation directly under it but had never had a post screwed into it from factory.

My JP is the same, has the dimple/hole where a post could go but it has never had one fitted.

Wouldn't hurt to put a mini post rubber on the matching post on the right hand side.   

If you have a manual you should be able to figure out what the part number is but personally I wouldn't install a post there.

Yep i have the same - a small hole and no post.

I reckon it actually drains the RHS more on mine...

I'll look at getting a rubber for that right hand post too - pesky endless side drains.

I've checked my DE SW and I was actually wrong  . There are NO bumper posts in front of the lane guides on either side  . Looks like you've got all the info you need anyhow .

Does that post have the groove in it for a rubber ??  Bit hard to see from the pics .

Mine doesn't. And again, I have wondered if it would help it there was a rubber on that post, but I figured that since there is no groove, there probably shouldn't be a rubber on it.

If you wanted to fit a rubber then you would have to replace the post with one like this:

The thread on the bottom depends on whether it screws straight into the playfield or into a T-nut under the playfield.
