« on: February 20, 2010, 09:30:58 AM »
I have a black pyramid which I want to rebuild the flippers on. It has the bally linear flipper design, if I replace the pawl, coil sleeve & EOS switch will that be ok or is there other parts that should be replacing ? Also any one know where I can get the pawls from ?

Pawls are the expensive part of the rebuild kit. Try our sponsors first, then www.pbresource.com as they sell the kits. When restoring Ballys of this era, I just buy the full replacement kit.

You should replace the coil stop as well and the spring. All in the kit !

I don't like the feel of the linear flippers and would 'convert' them back to the older plunger and link style.  Again, just buy the full plunger, crank and link kit from PBR and install it on the old linear base plates.

cheers

What is the pros & cons of converting back to the older plunger & link style flipper. If I was to do this which kit would I need to get ?

Ive been looking at these myself i need to replace the pawl, but local prices range from $33 AU to $38 AU each flipper pawl, plus postage.

Bay area amusements have the pawl for $6 US each, but postage is over $30 US

this is unbelievable  ^.^ ^.^ ^.^ ^.^ ^.^ ^.^ glad my Xenon only has two flippers
