Step Down Transformer
« on: July 22, 2010, 08:23:42 PM »
Looking for a step down transformer. I've been told the Dick Smith type aren't strong enough. This is for a French machine from 1959 which has the 110 volt transformer.

Ebay is by far the cheapest place for these... you can get away with just a 1A but its tight.... 2A is more than enough for an old woodrail.
Jaycar do a 5A and i have 4 sometimes 5 machines plugged into this.. its never tripped ( has overload protection), but at $230 its an expensive option.

Im curious though... why would a French machine have 110V??? Whole of Europe is standard 240V

.....You got me there Gav. I have no idea why this machine is the way it is. It's a very strange 4 player critter called 'The King' which to me looks like a copy of Gottlieb's 2 and 4 players from that time ( like Texan and Sweet Sioux etc)
