Removing and fitting new bulls eye targets
« on: June 01, 2010, 10:46:36 PM »
I'm thinking of giving my GTB Aquarius a makeover. The bulls eye targets are very worn and I'm looking at replacing them. (They are about 1" circular disks)
Problem is that the targets are rivetted onto each contact. What is the best way to remove the rivet? How would you re-install? (I'll purchase new rivets).
Wanted: GTB Aquarius backglass. Any playfield bits and backglasses from any EMs - nothing is junk to me.

Drill out the old one from behind the target. You can reuse the small washer (if it has one).

Your problem will be a rivet press (or lack of one).  You can buy the DIY bits from a tool shop and then you just hammer them in. Hard to track down, but they look like this ;

These guys used to sell a kit

But they don't seem to be anymore.

worst case if you are unable to source a press you could post them to me and i can fit the rivets for you,
i have one like the one listed on pin restore, i bought the kit from pin restore and the press was bought from a local supplier.
